Deployed Firefighters Assigned To Second Wildfire

The firefighters have moved from Tehama County to Plumas County.

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA — Last week East Bay firefighters from multiple departments were sent to fight the Red Bank Fire in Tehama County. That fire has now burned more than 8,800 acres and is 85 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.

Members of Strike Team 2001C and 2870C have been diverted to the Walker Fire in Plumas County. That monster fire has burned 47,340 acres, according to Cal Fire, and is just 20 percent contained.

The Alameda County Fire Department shared photos of firefighters setting backfires.

The strike teams are made up of firefighters from Alameda County, Berkeley, Fremont, Hayward, Oakland and Livermore-Pleasanton
