The exact location of the checkpoint has not been publicly disclosed.

NEWARK, CA — The Newark Police Department will hold a DUI Checkpoint Friday night from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. The exact location of the checkpoint has not been publicly disclosed.
In a release, the department said, "Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving impaired."
Officers will look for impairment caused by both alcohol and drugs. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Always read warning labels about driving and follow the instructions. Furthermore, while marijuana use is legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
