SAN RAMON, CA - A man suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol fled from police in San Ramon on Sunday, leading to a brief and low-speed pursuit on Interstate Highway 680, according to police.

The 45-year-old Los Gatos man failed to pull over when a police officer attempted a traffic stop around 10 p.m. Sunday on the highway’s southbound side, San Ramon police Sgt. Steve Fajardo said.

The man then slowly fled from police for about 5 miles -- from San Ramon to the highway’s Interstate Highway 580 interchange in Dublin -- before finally pulling over, Fajardo said.
