Newark Knights Baseball is looking for baseball players that are age ten or under to fill our 2013 10U roster. We are conducting individual tryouts for the 2013 baseball season. Players must be born after April 2002 to qualify as a 10 year old or under.
Newark Knights Baseball is affiliated with the 680 Diablo PONY league. Our teams play by the Major League Baseball rules: lead offs, stealing, pickoffs, dropped third strike, pitching from the stretch, and balks. This program is intended to expose players to a higher level of competition that they might not get otherwise in preparation for high school baseball.
Our season will consist of approximately 40-45 games. Practices and home games will be held at Newark Jr. High School. All travel games and most home games will be on weekends only. We will play double headers on Saturdays and a Sunday game, as well as some tournament games, with one weekend off per month that we pick. The 2013 season runs from March to June. Practices will begin in late January.
