In 2010 the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that employment of interpreters and translators is expected to grow 42 percent from 2010 to 2020, much faster than the average for all occupations. Job opportunities should be best for those who have professional certification. Join this growing career field by taking Ohlone’s series of Spanish interpreting courses. Students completing these courses will receive a valuable industry-specific Certificate of Completion, along with employment and career placement information.
Workshop Title: Become a Spanish Language Legal Interpreter
Description: This class is designed to teach thousands of legal terms. Students will also learn
how to interpret and sight translate important court documents, such as the advisement
of rights, the Miranda warning, the oath, and the arraignment. Students will acquire real-life
experience through legal mocks.
When: Saturdays, September 8-October 27, 12:30pm-3:30pm, 8 classes
