Do you have old mattresses or box springs that you need to get rid of? Do it for free this Saturday in the Cherryland neighborhood of Hayward. All Alameda County residents are welcome to participate. The goal of the program is to prevent illegal dumping of mattresses.
“Illegal dumping is a plague on our communities. My office has been working diligently with local stakeholders to address this human-created environmental and public health issue through my Illegal Dumping Task Force,” said Supervisor Nate Miley.
The collection events will take place at 20095 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94541. The hours are 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The free recycling program will take place the third Saturday of the month through the end of the year:

· August 17
· September 21
· October 19
· November 16
· December 21
