Free Tax Prep At Ohlone College In Newark

NEWARK, CA —Free tax preparation services are available this tax season under certain restrictions for residents of Newark, Fremont, and Union City at Ohlone College's Newark campus, college officials said.

The services are being offered through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program on Tuesdays by appointment through April 17.

Not only are specialists available to prepare residents' taxes, but computers are available for residents who want to prepare them themselves and want someone nearby to answer questions they might have.

College officials said among the restrictions, households have to have earned less that $54,000 last year.

The Newark campus is located at 39399 Cherry St. in Newark. Tax preparation will take place in Room 1211.

Parking is available at $4 per vehicle. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (510) 574-2026.
