Free Tri-City Booster Seat Giveaway Saturday

Some 450 booster seats will be given away, starting at 10 am. Check below for requirements. A free lunch will also be served.

FREMONT, CA -There's a valuable giveaway in Fremont on Saturday.

Approximately 450 new vehicle booster safety seats will be given away at American High School in Fremont, located at 36300 Fremont Boulevard.

The event is hosted by Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty with Safe Kids Alameda County, the Booster Seat Giveaway & Family Fair will be conducted on the front driveway, and adjacent grassy area, of the school from 10:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 16.

To receive a free booster seat, you must meet these eligibility requirements:

  • proof of Alameda County residency
  • an existing safety seat either outgrown or outdated
  • both the child and the vehicle must be present

Booster seats, both of the high-back and backless varieties, accommodating children 4 years of age, weighing approximately 30 lbs to 110 lbs and measuring approximately 37 inches to 57 inches in height, will be available free of cost.

Education and installation will be provided by certified safety seat technicians.

A free resource fair will also be held. The fair will have booths housing various local, regional and state agencies. Representatives will provide details and answer questions regarding youth and family services and programs.

A free barbeque lunch will be served from 11:30am to 2:30pm, and family-friendly entertainment will also be available.

The booster seats and food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, and only while supplies last.
