-- The 16th
annual Fremont 4th of July Parade, with the theme “Rockin’ in the USA,” is set to march
it’s way along a NEW parade route on the morning of July 4th
beginning at 10:00 a.m.
This year,
the parade will step off at the corner of Paso Padre Parkway and Stevenson Boulevard. The parade will continue north on Paso Padre Parkway
and turn left (west) onto Capitol
Avenue, passing City Hall and ending at Liberty Street. The parade staging area, which includes the
Fremont Main Library parade lot and Stevenson
Boulevard between Paso Padre Parkway and Civic Center Drive, will be closed to
traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. July 4th. The parade route will close beginning at 9:00
a.m. The parade is expected to take two
hours to pass. The parade route was
changed due to construction in and around State Street and Capitol Avenue.

The parade
will once again 70 entries including marching bands, floats, dance groups,
equestrians and giant parade balloons.
More details of the parade will be announced next week. “We expect a lot of music and excitement with
this year’s theme,” said Jesse Schaa the Parade Committee President.
