Fremont Police Seek Hit-and-Run Driver

Two men were in a sidewalk when they were mowed down. One is in critical condition.

FREMONT, CA - Police are seeking the public’s help to locate a vehicle connected to a hit-and-run that left two Fremont men with major injuries early Saturday morning.

A 29-year old victim is expected to survive and a 42-year-old victim remains in critical condition, police said Sunday.

Around 1 a.m. on Saturday officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Paseo Padre Parkway and Fremont Boulevard for a report of a person down in the roadway, according to police. When officers arrived, they found the two men down, both suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The pair was transported to a hospital, police said.

Investigators believe the two victims were both struck by the suspect vehicle as they were walking in the crosswalk, according to police.

The vehicle fled the scene with moderate to major front-end damage to its headlights and grill. Investigators believe the vehicle is a 1998 or 1999 Ford SUV or pickup truck, police said.
