Cherry Street Reopened Following Gas Leak
Earlier, both Cherry Street and Joaquin Murieta Avenue were closed.
NEWARK, CA — The Newark Police Department reports that northbound Cherry Street has reopened, following a gas leak.
Northbound Cherry Street had been closed between Stevenson Boulevard and Mowry Avenue, causing traffic to back up all the way to Auto Mall in Fremont.
The gas leak was on Joaquin Murieta Avenue. It was caused by a downed tree.
