Gofundme Established For Local Barbershop Closed By Coronavirus
A gofundme has been set up for the owners and employees of KJ's Barber and Hair Creationz in Newark.
NEWARK, CA — The coronavirus pandemic and the many stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders across the country have been taking their toll on some small businesses. As a result, many business owners are reaching out to their communities and asking for support in this difficult time.
One such business is KJ's Barber and Hair Creationz, whose owner says he's been forced to closed by the virus, placing a strain both on his finances, and the finances of the barbers who work there.
Owner Jer-rod Jones Sr. has set up a gofundme account to try and raise enough money to pay his bills and the shop's lease through the shelter-in-place order. Jones says he hopes to raise enough money to split the proceeds with the five barbers who work at his shop, who are also struggling without a stable income amid the outbreak.
