Gunman Robs 2 at Tri-City High School

Police arrived within 2 minutes and stayed with students until their parents arrived to pick them up.

FREMONT, CA — An armed robbery occurred at a high school in Fremont last week, police said.

At 8:12 p.m. Thursday, the victim and his younger brother were at the basketball court at Irvington High School at 41800 Blacow Road when a suspect robbed them at gunpoint. The suspect took their wallets and fled toward Grimmer Boulevard, police said.

Officers were on the scene within two minutes and conducted a search for the suspect until almost 10 p.m.
During the search, officers recovered the victim's wallets, but were unable to locate the suspect.

According to police, several students were on campus during the incident and subsequent search. Officers stayed with the students until their parents arrived.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic or Filipino man who is about 21 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing 180 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, gray hoodie, dark jeans, and was armed with a handgun, police said.
