Heavy Traffic Expected In Newark Saturday

High school graduation is this Saturday. Expect heavy congestion in the area, police warn.

NEWARK, CA — The Newark Police Department is reminding everyone that Newark Memorial High School has scheduled its graduation ceremony this Saturday between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon.

Unless you are attending the graduation, do your best to avoid Cedar Boulevard between Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard all morning and into mid-afternoon to allow traffic to clear out. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration and you won't add to the congestion.

For those attending commencement NPD asks people to carpool, use the parking lots on the east side of the campus along Cedar Boulevard, and be respectful of local businesses with parking lots close to the school. Those business lots should not be used by people attending the ceremony.
