Man Accused Of Grand Theft Arrested: East Bay Police
Police say he took more than $20,000 worth of merchandise from just one Target store. He's accused of far more crimes.

NEWARK, CA — An East Bay man was arrested following a multi-agency investigation into a string of Bay Area grand thefts.
According to Alameda Police, "Between April and August 2022, the Target store in Alameda experienced a series of grand thefts totaling over $20,000 in stolen merchandise. All of the incidents had a similar suspect and Modus Operandi."
Police detectives from multiple cities, Target’s Loss Prevention Officers, and the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office worked together to solve the crimes. The investigation identified an unnamed 47-year-old Berkeley man as the suspect.

He was arrested in San Leandro last week.
