Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Loaded Shotgun in Newark

The crime happened over the weekend.

NEWARK, CA — Police arrested a man in Newark on Sunday who allegedly stole a loaded shotgun, police said.

At 2:17 a.m., an officer responded to the 5200 block of Bristol Place to investigate the theft by a known suspect.

According to police, officers then made contact with the suspect at his home on the 5300 block of Greenwich Court. The suspect, described as a 32-year-old man, was arrested for allegedly stealing the gun, and booked into the Santa Rita Jail.

The shotgun was recovered and booked for evidence, police said.
