Man Shot Dead In Grocery Outlet Parking Lot

BREAKING: The victim was declared dead at the scene, Newark police said.

NEWARK, CA – A person was found shot dead in the parking lot of a grocery store this afternoon in Newark, according to police.

Police said officers responded to the Grocery Outlet located at 36601 Newark Blvd. just after 12:30 p.m. on reports of a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, officers located a man in his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide, and police said they do not think the act was random. No further information is being released at this time.
