Murdered Woman Still Unidentified 38 Years After Her Body Was Found

NEWARK, CA — Tuesday marks 38 years since an unidentified woman's body was found in Newark.

Still officially a Jane Doe, "She was found shot and killed in the remote wetlands off Mowry Avenue in Newark," police said in a social media post. "To this day, we are still working to identify this victim."

The woman's body was found October 24, 1985.

Police are working with the DNA Doe Project in hopes of identifying the woman and bringing her killer to justice. The sketch is the result of the collaboration between NPD and the DNA Doe Project.
