Naming Rights for The Coliseum Up for Grabs

As the Oakland A's begin a new season, their home field is looking for a new name.

OAKLAND, CA - Formerly known as the O.co Coliseum, the naming rights to The Oakland Alameda Coliseum are available after discount online retailer Overstock.com ended its sponsorship of the venue, officials with the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority say.

Overrstock.com held the naming rights for five years and a shift in company strategy meant that sponsoring a venue was no longer in the best interest of the company.

In a statement, Executive Director of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority Scott McKibben said, "We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to the sports marketing marketplace. "The Coliseum is now the only venue in the United States that offers a sponsor naming rights to a venue hosting Major League Baseball and the National Football League."
