New Veterinarian Hospital Open in Newark
AllCare Veterinary Hospital on Thornton Avenue is open six days a week.
Pet owners who need services and medical care for their furry friends don’t need to travel out of town anymore.
Located in the center of Newark is , a full-service animal care hospital – and only one in the city – that is open six days a week.
AllCare specializes in care services for dogs, cats and birds but its staff can also provide some services to guinea pigs, rabbits and even lizards.

There are three exam rooms in the facility located at 6625 Thornton Ave. and services range from nail trims to vaccinations and even surgery.
The sole licensed doctor of the facility is Dr. Kuky Sangha, a veterinarian of 15 years.

And since she was a child growing up in India, Sangha knew she wanted to care for animals. She grew up on a farm surrounded by horses, cattles, dogs and cats and watched her father, who was in the army, bring home rescued German Shepherds.
“I never thought of anything else,” Sangha said.
And the Tri-City is one she is familiar with. Before AllCare, Sangha was a veterinarian with American Animal Care Center in Fremont and lived in Union City.
Being Newark’s only veterinarian hospital is more than just offering services.
“The main [goal] is to provide good quality, affordable services to the residents of Newark,” Sangha said.
General examinations are said to cost $19.50 and full vaccination package packs can cost less than $50 for puppies and less than $40 for kittens.
Spay and neuter procedures costs start between $85 and $170 for dogs and between $30 and $60 for cats. Prices range depending on the gender and weight of the animal.

The hospital is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The facility is closed on Sundays.
Visits that require doctors’ hours are by appointment only but many servicers can be handled by AllCare’s other staff members, said Manager and Lead Pet Technician Patricia Amezcua.
