Newark Hires Two New Police Officers

The officers are graduates of the police academy.

NEWARK, CA — The Newark Police Department has hired two new officers.

Joyce Wang and Frank Herbert join the department after graduating earlier this week from the Alameda County Sheriff's Academy.

The police department has volunteer opportunities. The City describes the efforts, "Volunteer groups include our RAVEN (Ready & Active Volunteers Engaged in Newark) staff who assist in the Traffic, Patrol, and Records Divisions; Explorers/Cadets who are young people aged 14-24 interested in law enforcement; Graffiti Abatement volunteers who dedicate their time to keep Newark graffiti-free; and Reserve Police Officers who supplement our sworn staffing levels."
