Newark Police Donate Money to Buy New Bike for Bike Theft Victim

The act of kindness moved the woman to tears, according to police.

Officers presented a band new bicycle Friday to a woman whose bicycle was stolen in Newark just days earlier. Officers with the Newark Police Department donated money to help purchase a replacement bicycle for the woman, according to police. Police had investigated the theft of the woman’s bicycle on Wednesday, police said.

The woman was very upset about the theft, since the bicycle was her only mode of transportation, police said. When officers learned of the woman’s story, they decided to raise money to buy her a new bicycle. The act of kindness moved the woman to tears, according to police.
