Newark Police Find Woman's Body Inside Home

Police were performing a welfare check when they discovered the body.

NEWARK, CA - Newark Police are investigating a suspicious death after finding a woman’s body inside a home during a welfare check.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 5600 block of McLaughlin Avenue at 8:21 p.m. Thursday for a welfare check, and found an unresponsive woman inside. Paramedics from the Alameda County Fire Department responded to the scene but they were unable to revive the victim, according to police.

Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
