Newark Police Seek Homicide Suspect

The suspect is accused of shooting another man in Newark on Sunday.

NEWARK, CA - Newark Police are asking residents to help them find a homicide suspect.

Rizueno Ramirez Cruz, who also goes by the name Jorge Diaz Aguilar, allegedly shot another man at an home in the 6300 block of Zulmida Avenue in Newark.

According to police, someone called 9-1-1 at 5:11 p.m., "The caller reported that there was a confrontation between two males in the rear yard of the residence. During the confrontation one of the males shot the other male. The suspect fled the area."

Alameda County Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene and determined the victim was dead. His name is being withheld until all family have been notified.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult, 5-feet-8-inches tall, approximately 170 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes, and a medium build.
