NEWARK, CA —Alameda County Fire Department crews were dispatched to Newark Saturday evening for a fire that extended from a garage into a home. No injuries were reported, according to the ACFD.

Fire officials said the structure fire was reported at 6:03 p.m. on Ruschin Drive, though they would not offer the specific address of the home nor details about the extent of the damage. According to officials, the fire was upgraded to a working structure fire due to heavy black smoke coming from the garage.

Officials said the fire remains under investigation.
