Dear Newark USD Community,

We hope that you and your family enjoyed a good weekend and that your family remains safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. Tomorrow classes resume and our teachers will transition to a distance learning model. Last week teachers took part in a training and each week they will continue to build on their expertise. A big thank you to our principals and staff that distributed chrome books last week. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, principal or email us at [email protected] if you still need support with a device. Last week we prioritized ensuring that families had access to at least one device and in this coming week, site leaders will evaluate the continuing need for devices.

Earlier this year, our Board of Education approved to contract with a survey company to hear from the Newark Community about their current and future views. This week, the survey will be sent out randomly to get a cross section of the Newark Community’s input and we appreciate you taking the time to complete it if you receive an invitation to take it.

Esperamos que usted y su familia hayan disfrutado un buen fin de semana y que su familia permanezca segura y saludable durante estos tiempos sin precedentes. Mañana se reanudarán las clases y nuestros maestros continúan en un modelo de aprendizaje a distancia. La semana pasada, los maestros participaron en una capacitación y cada semana continuarán desarrollando su experiencia. Muchas gracias a nuestros directores y personal que distribuyeron libros de cromo (“Chromebook”) la semana pasada. Comuníquese con el maestro, el director de su hijo/a o envíenos un correo electrónico a [email protected] si aún necesita un “Chromebook” . La semana pasada priorizamos asegurar que las familias tuvieran acceso a al menos un “Chromebook” y en la próxima semana, los líderes del sitio evaluarán la necesidad continua de dispositivos.

A principios de este año, nuestra Junta de Educación aprobó un contrato con una empresa encuestadora para conocer a la Comunidad de Newark sobre sus puntos de vista actuales y futuros. Esta semana, la encuesta se enviará al azar para obtener una sección transversal de los aportes de la Comunidad de Newark y le agradecemos que se tome el tiempo para completarla si recibe una invitación para completarla.
