Police Arrest 2 Suspects in String of Armed Robberies
All of the robberies happened near the BART station.
FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police have arrested two suspects they say are responsible for a string of armed robberies. Bradley Gentry is being held on charges including four counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. Letisha Lewis is being held on two counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime. The pair were arrested on Thursday.
All of the street robberies happened in the area of the Fremont BART station:
- September 21, at 9:10 p.m., in the area of Bonner Avenue and Athy Street. During the incident an unknown suspect stuck a handgun into the back of a 35 year old male victim and demanded money and his phone
- October 14, officers investigated two similar cases, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. – 11:10 p.m., where a similarly described suspect pointed handguns at his victims (a 32 year old female and a 22 year old female) and demanded cash. During one the two incidents on October 14, the male had a female accomplice
- October 20, a fourth similar robbery occurred at 9:00 p.m. in the area of Cherry Lane and Bing Common
- October 24, at 2:42 p.m., in the area of Guardino Drive and Pepys Way, a fifth robbery was reported
During two of the five incidents, victims reported the suspect got into a waiting white, 4-door sedan, possibly an Acura

Last Wednesday, several patrol officers and detectives were in the area when a vehicle matching the suspect description was spotted near the Fremont BART station. Detectives took the suspect into custody, breaking open the case. They report that evidence was recovered linking both suspects to all five robberies.
