Reminder: Saturday Is Junk Drop-Off Day In Newark

NEWARK, CA —The City of Newark and Republic Services Inc. are hosting a "Community Cleanup Day" Saturday, Oct. 10, allowing residents to dispose of bulky items at no charge. Participants must show a recent, residential collection bill and matching identification, officials said.

Drop-offs are at the Newark Service Center, 37440 Filbert St. from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Accepted items include: mattresses; wood; electronics; paint and hazardous materials; furniture; carpeting; and appliances.
