Smash-And-Grab Reported At Newark Starbucks

The victim was only gone from their car for 10 minutes.

NEWARK, CA — Newark Police report a window smash auto burglary at a Starbucks in Newark.

According to police, the victim went into Starbucks and was back out within 10 minutes. The thief got away with a black backpack that had nothing valuable inside.

The victim, however, was stuck with the headache of calling police, filling out an insurance claim, getting the vehicle's window replaced and buying a new backpack.

It takes just seconds for a smash-and-grab to occur. Don't leave anything in plain sight to tempt a burglar. If they see nothing, chances are they will move on to the next vehicle.
