Tri-City Road Closure Will Impact Traffic

Fremont Boulevard in Fremont will be closed between Thornton and Peralta this Friday and Saturday.

Caltrans and Union Pacific Rail Road have scheduled maintenance work on the railroad tracks that cross Fremont Boulevard. The road will be be closed from 10 p.m. Friday through midnight on Saturday.

Access to local businesses

Detour routes will be in effect during the closure so residents can reach businesses.

• Vehicles approaching the crossing from the north on Fremont Boulevard will be directed to take Thornton Avenue to Paseo Padre Parkway, to Peralta Boulevard, to return to Fremont Boulevard.
• Vehicles from the south on Fremont Boulevard will be directed to take Peralta Boulevard to Paseo Padre Parkway, to Thornton Avenue to return to Fremont Boulevard.
• Pedestrians and bicyclists will be directed from Fremont Boulevard to Peralta Boulevard, to Maple Street, to Thornton Avenue, to return to Fremont Boulevard.

If you're not planning to patronize a business in the impacted work zone, an alternate route is advised.
