Tri-City Shooting Suspect Arrest

Police say an AR-15-style gun was used in the shooting.

UNION CITY, CA — Union City Police arrested Andres Ramirez on suspicion of shooting an AR-15-style rifle into two occupied homes and a vehicle in Union City on Sept. 25. No one was injured in the shooting.

Ramirez was arrested on Nov. 4.

According to police, "the Union City Police Department Investigations Unit in conjunction with the UCPD SWAT team served an arrest and search warrant at Mr. Ramirez’ residence. Mr. Ramirez was safely taken into custody.

"Mr. Ramirez has been charged with two felony counts of PC 246 (Illegal discharge of a firearm at an inhabited dwelling), felony PC 25850(A) (Carrying a loaded firearm), felony PC 30605(A) (Possession of assault rifle), misdemeanor PC 242 (Battery), and misdemeanor CVC 20002(A) (Hit and Run)."
