15th Annual 'Field Of Honor' Returns To Newport Beach: What To Know

Orange County residents can honor armed forces members and first responders at the annual celebration starting Friday, May 17.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The 15th annual Field of Honor is returning to Newport Beach, and residents were urged to stop by and pay tribute to armed forces members and first responders on the flag-covered lawn of Castaways Park starting Friday.

The event displays 1,776 large American flags along the paths of Castaways Park overlooking Newport Harbor to honor armed forces members, past and present, as well as first responders who have served or are currently serving.

During the weeks-long event, two special celebrations are planned, including an Armed Forces Day celebration on May 18. The celebration will feature keynote speaker Elaine Brattain, former national chaplain for the American Gold Star Mothers, the city said.
