2 ID'd In Newport Beach Homicide
Police ruled out murder-suicide in their homicide investigation after the bodies of a man and woman were found inside a Newport home Sunday.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Two people found dead inside a Newport Beach home overnight Monday were identified by the Orange County Coroner's office.
Darren Partch, 38, of Newport Beach and Wendi Miller, 48, of Costa Mesa, were positively identified as the victims of a double homicide, according to Heather Rangel of the Newport Beach Police Department.
A Newport Beach resident "arrived home to find the bodies of his roommate, Partch, and a woman he did not know, Miller, inside the home Sunday evening," police said.

Officials arrived at the residence on 15th Street near Irvine Avenue across from the Newport Harbor High School and determined that a homicide had taken place.
"The identities of the pair were withheld until notification of their relatives," Newport Beach Police Spokeswoman Heather Rangel told Patch.

Though police remained in the area Monday, the Newport Harbor high school was not affected in any way by the incident, Rangel told Patch.
"The activity appears to be confined to this location and investigators have no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to public safety," she said.
