Morning traffic was backed up in both directions through Orange County.

SANTA ANA, CA -- A multi-vehicle crash on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Tustin injured two motorcyclists and backed up traffic during the morning commute period.

A driver in an SUV changed lanes over the double-yellow lines from the commuter lane into the fast lane about 8:40 a.m. at Tustin Ranch Road, striking a motorcyclist on a Harley-Davidson, according to California Highway Patrol
Officer Tino Olivera.

The SUV then struck a Kawasaki Ninja, according to Olivera, who said the motorcyclists had been sharing a lane.

The Harley rider suffered pelvic and right leg fractures, and the Kawasaki rider had a broken collar bone and abrasions, the officer said.
