24-Year-Old Killed in Newport Beach Hit and Run
Police arrested a suspect in the hit and run death at her home in Paramount.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA - A 21-year-old motorist who allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian in Newport Beach and fled the scene today was later arrested in the city of Paramount.
The pedestrian was later identified as Cypress resident Christopher Roth, 24, according to the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
The motorist was identified as Paramount resident Nancy Diana Flores, the Newport Beach Police Department reported. Flores was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and hit and run.

Flores, driving a gray 2007 Nissan 350z, allegedly struck Roth at 1:11 a.m. in the area of Newport Boulevard and 30th Street as he was crossing an intersection. The car was going southbound on Newport Boulevard, according to Lt. Randy Querry of the Newport Beach Police Department.
Paramedics rushed Roth to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he died from his injuries at 1:57 a.m., according to the coroner’s office.

Officers found the car 11 blocks away from Newport and 30th Street, at 19th Street and Court Avenue, Querry said.
The Nissan, which was registered to Flores, had sustained major front- end damage, he said.
At 7:19 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies contacted Flores and she was subsequently arrested, Querry said.
