A.M. Roundup: MTV Turns 30; Free Bike Licensing; Youth Lacrosse Program

• MTV debuted 30 years ago today. Back then the "M" stood for music. Not sure what it stands for today. What are your MTV memories? All-time favorite video? When was MTV's Golden Age? Was the station better back then or have things improved over the last three decades? Tell us in comments.

• The Newport Beach Police Department on Wednesday will host a Community Connect event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Newport Pier. The event will include free bicycle licensing and information on bike and boardwalk safety and home security will be handed out.

• A Newport Harbor High boys lacrosse program begins today. Boys in second through ninth grade will run weekdays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. A training camp for boys runs 9 a.m. to noon weekdays.
