NEWPORT BEACH, CA — In cities across Orange County, trash services provided by CR&R were disrupted as a result of a hazmat crisis in Garden Grove— leaving thousands of residents across Orange County uncertain about when their trash will be collected.
The CR&R trash disruption impacted cities including: Costa Mesa, Irvine, Lake Forest, Laguna Beach, Laguna Woods, Newport Beach, Orange, Rossmoor, Stanton, Tustin and Westminster.
"Our operating facilities and our Customer Service Center have been evacuated and services are on hold until we are allowed access to our facilities," CR&R wrote in a statement. "At this time, we do not have a timeframe for service recovery and responses may be delayed."
By Tuesday, CR&R announced that it would resume trash collection services as a result of the lifted evacuation — but residents should still expect some delays.
