ORANGE, CA — A person was killed in a crash on the Costa Mesa (55) Freeway, authorities said Tuesday.
The three-car crash was reported at 11:04 p.m. Monday on the southbound Costa Mesa Freeway just north of the Garden Grove (22) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A witness told the CHP a black SUV was on its side and that a person was lying in the slow lane, possibly having been ejected from the vehicle.
The CHP temporarily shut down all southbound lanes except the HOV and fast lane and the lanes were reopened by 2 a.m.
