NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A 27-year-old man was charged Monday with sexual assaults on three women in Newport Beach.
Edwin Eduardo Hernandez was charged with a felony count of false imprisonment effected by violence, menace, fraud or deceit, as well as one count of sexual battery and two counts of touching an intimate part of another person, all misdemeanors, court records show.
Hernandez was accused of attacking two women on July 27 and another on July 18, according to the criminal complaint.
Hernandez did not enter a plea Monday at his arraignment in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana. His arraignment was rescheduled for Sept. 9 in the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
Hernandez was ordered held on $50,000 bail.
Further details were not immediately available as police and prosecutors did not immediately respond to requests for information.
