NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A crash on the State route 73 Freeway injured at least one person and snarled early morning commuter traffic Thursday, authorities said.
The crash happened at around 7:10 a.m. on the southbound side of the freeway near MacArthur Boulevard in the City of Newport Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to police, the crash involved a white work van and a Toyota car blocking the middle lanes of the freeway.
At least one person was injured in the crash, police said. Their status was not known.
The crash slowed morning commuter traffic on the freeway for over an hour.
