Former Reality TV Doctor Who Was Accused Of Sexual Assaults Has Medical License Revoked: Report

The Newport Beach surgeon was once accused of drugging and sexually assaulting multiple women.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — An Orange County surgeon who was once accused of drugging and sexually assaulting several women recently had his medical license revoked, The Orange County Register reported.

The news comes years following Grant Robicheaux's long-running criminal case that came to a close in 2023, when the former orthopedic surgeon pleaded guilty to gun- and drug-possession charges after having sexual-assault charges that drew international attention dismissed.

According to The OC Register, the Medical Board of California formally revoked Robicheaux's medical license last month.

The action came following allegations that the former Bravo Reality TV star had violated the terms of an agreement that had allowed him to keep his license on a probationary status.

In 2018, the former hand surgeon was accused by then-District Attorney Tony Rackauckas of being a serial predator and rapist who picked up women at Newport Beach night spots, drugged them, and then sexually assaulted them at his Balboa Peninsula home.

Robicheaux was accused alongside his then-girlfriend, Cerissa Riley.

Lawyers for the couple denied that they were predators, stating instead that Robicheaux and Riley were "swingers" who took part in consensual sex and drug use.

The criminal case, however, became politically charged.

After coming into office and effectively unseating former Rackauckas, Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer tried to dismiss the charges and apologized to Robicheaux and Riley.

Spitzer cited a lack of evidence and a mishandling of the case by his predecessor.

An Orange County Superior Court Judge later ruled that there wasn't enough evidence to support the sexual assault allegations.

The multiple-sexual assault case turned into a drug and gun case shortly thereafter.

Robicheaux pleaded guilty to felony gun possession — for an assault rifle found in his home — and drug possession. He was sentenced to two years of formal probation.
