• Details Announced For 2026 Newport Beach Police Foundation Golf Classic (patch.com) — Newport Beach residents are invited to join the 2026 Newport Beach Police Foundation Golf Classic at Newport Beach Country Club on October 26, supporting local police programs and community initiatives. Proceeds help fund safety equipment, support for families of fallen officers, scholarships, holiday events, support animals, and the Mounted and K-9 units, with registration, golf, and a reception scheduled throughout the day.
   

• Newport Beach honored as USTA SoCal 'Tennis Town' (modbee.com) — Newport Beach has just been named a USTA Southern California "Tennis Town," recognizing the city's deep tennis culture from youth players to adult leagues. Local coaches, pros, and leaders gathered at Palisades Tennis Club as USTA SoCal's director praised Newport Beach as an epicenter of the sport, home to numerous champions and a thriving community of players.
   

• Laguna Playhouse Stages World Premiere of 'Wild Child' September 12 (newportbeachindy.com) — A world-premiere musical, "Wild Child," opens September 12 at Laguna Playhouse, and it features actor Brian Whithill, who grew up in Newport Beach and attended Corona del Mar High. He describes the fast-changing, collaborative rehearsal process and how the show tackles teens' mental health, social media pressures, and the search for community in a wilderness therapy setting.
