Well the President apologized last night, but might of forgotten to mention that Newport Beach residents who purchase Individual & Family plans in 2014 under his new Covered California plan won't be able to use Hoag on any of Anthem Blue Cross or Blue Shield of CA Covered CA PPO and EPO plans in 2014.
**UPDATE 11/23/2013** COVERED CALIFORNIA SAYS YOU CANNOT KEEP YOUR CANCELLED PLAN**
That is right guys and girls who live here in Beautiful Newport Beach (myself included), they did not sign new agreements under the Obama plans. Actually several Hospitals did not for 2014 including UCLA and Cedar Sinai (Beverly Hills), it is tragic when plans are charging so much money and are not affiliated with our local Hospitals and Physicians.
So who will accept Hoag in 2014 for Family plans? Health Net retains Hoag as a Preferred Provider in 2014 and offers plans inside and outside the Exchange. Additionally Cal Optima (MedI Cal) provider shows up as accepting Hoag on the program (kinda shocking).
I have had several emails this morning asking me, "what Hospitals will be under Covered CA plans" Blue Shield of CA closest Hospital posted is Saddleback Memorial in Laguna Hills, Mission Hospital in Laguna Beach, Orange Coast Memorial in Fountain Valley and Children's Hospital of Orange County in Orange.
