Blood Needed In Newport Beach: Red Cross Blood Drives Near You

Newport Beach residents who donate blood will receive a special prize in return for their life-saving gift.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — While the end of summer can shake up normal routines with the return of school, the American Red Cross's need for blood and platelet donors remains the same.

This August, residents who donate blood through August 31 will receive a $10 e-gift card to a movie merchant of their choice.

The American Red Cross has an urgent need for type O negative, type O positive, type B negative and type A negative blood donors, as well as platelet donors, according to the organization.

In and around Newport Beach, residents can schedule to make an appointment to donate blood here.

  • Aug. 20: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., St Mark Presbyterian Church, 2200 San Joaquin Hills Road
  • Aug. 23: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., Newport Beach Police Department, 870 Santa Barbara
