Body Found On 405 Freeway In Orange County

The early-morning discovery prompted the California Highway Patrol to issue a SigAlert.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Authorities are investigating the death of a person whose body was found Monday morning on the San Diego (405) Freeway in Orange County. The discovery prompted an early-morning SigAlert.

It wasn't immediately clear how the body ended up on the freeway.

The California Highway Patrol was called to the scene of the southbound San Diego Freeway south of Beach Boulevard in Huntington Beach shortly after 3 a.m.

A witness reported the person was in the second to right lane, the CHP said. A vehicle possibly related to the incident was found on the right shoulder.

A SigAlert was issued at 3:22 a.m. closing the southbound lanes 3 and 4 and the Center and Edinger avenues on-ramps to traffic. It appeared the Beach Boulevard on-ramp was also affected.
