Body Found In Santa Ana River Thursday After Heavy Rains: Report
Authorities were working Friday to determine the identity of a person found near the mouth of the Santa Ana River.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A body was found in the Santa Ana River Thursday, and authorities Friday were working to determine the gender and identity of the person, The Daily Pilot reported.
Newport Beach authorities were originally sent to the scene near the mouth of the Santa Ana River Thursday. The mouth of the Santa Ana River is located in between the city limits of Newport Beach and Huntington Beach, and falls under the county's jurisdiction.
Orange County Sheriff's deputies confirmed the discovery of the body to The Daily Pilot but had no comment on the gender or identification of the person found. It was also not known if the person was homeless or if foul play was involved.
