Bomb Scare On Orange County OCTA Bus: Cops

Police were called to the scene Orange County Transit Authority bus when a rider told others that he had a bomb, officials say.

SANTA ANA, CA — One suspect was under arrest Friday after telling others riding on an Orange County Transit Authority bus that he had a bomb, police say.

The incident occurred about 8 a.m. at First and Flower streets, where the bus stopped and was evacuated, said Sgt. Ryan Anderson of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The area was declared safe by 9:30 a.m.

Investigators determined there was no bomb aboard the bus, Anderson said.

The man was arrested on suspicion of making a false bomb threat, Anderson said. His name was not immediately released.
