Bassist and vocalist Kristin Korb is celebrated worldwide for redefining the bass-and-voice format. A protégé of Ray Brown, she has built a three-decade international career across the United States and Europe. With more than a dozen albums as leader—including "Sweet Dreams" (2024), exploring the music of Eurythmics and Annie Lennox—Korb brings a buoyant swing feel and crystalline vocals that recall Ella Fitzgerald, alongside bass virtuosity firmly in the Ray Brown tradition.
Her new project celebrates 100 years of Ray Brown. The Vocal Side of Ray Brown is a curated program that includes some of Korb's favorite treasures from his trio songbook, songs inspired by lessons she learned from him, and some original gems that you might not have heard before. Joining Korb for the celebration are Josh Nelson (piano) and Kevin van den Elzen (drums).

Dobro master and 14-time Grammy® winner Jerry Douglas is a bandleader, producer, session musician, instructor, and a very funny guy! He’s produced over a hundred albums, and he’s featured on over 1,600 studio albums. He’s a member of Alison Krauss &amp; Union Station, co-bandleader for Transatlantic Sessions in the United Kingdom, founder of the Grammy®-winning bluegrass super-group The Earls of Leicester, and he leads The Jerry Douglas Band.
Since 2017, The Jerry Douglas Band has been forging new paths into the musical horizon with deep roots in bluegrass and folk that spread out into the Americana and jazz landscapes. In 2021, The Jerry Douglas Band released an album, Leftover Feelings, with legendary singer-songwriter John Hiatt. The album was nominated for a 2022 Grammy® for “Best Americana Album,” and their previous record, What If, also received a Grammy® nomination for “Best Contemporary Instrumental Album.” They perform at some of the top US festivals such as Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Pilgrimage Music Festival, Big Ears Festival, DelFest, FreshGrass, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, Merlefest, and many others. In addition to Douglas, The Jerry Douglas Band includes Daniel Kimbro on bass, Christian Sedelmyer on fiddle, and Mike Seal on guitar.

<a href="https://bodyrok.com/studio/costa-mesa/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">BODYROK</a>, the reformer Pilates brand known for its 45-minute, full-body workout blending Pilates, strength training, and cardio in a high-energy, low-impact format on a custom reformer, announced today it will open its newest studio at 270 E. 17th Street in Costa Mesa this October. The studio marks the first Southern California studio for Catalyst Health Partners (CHP), the multi-brand operator scheduled to develop locations across the majority of the Southern California market.
Costa Mesa joins an existing Orange County footprint that includes Tustin, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Anaheim Hills, and San Clemente. With 100 studios open globally and 190 in development, BODYROK continues to grow as one of the most in-demand reformer-based fitness concepts in the country.
Chioco Design, a recognized name in hospitality and fitness, designed the studio from the ground up. The 2,704-square-foot space will boast 18 custom reformers with the ability to add more, giving members plenty of space and capacity in class. It also includes a reception and retail area built from architectural millwork, multiple restrooms with room to change, and a lockers-and-beauty-bar area with vanity stations for members getting ready before or after class, set against a custom slat wall with signature lighting and signage by Rave.
