Car Flips In Fiery OC Freeway Crash, Police Say

The crash was reported Tuesday night at around 8:40 p.m. on the 73 Freeway, police said.

NEWPORT BECH, CA — One person was injured when the car they were riding in flipped in a fiery freeway crash in Orange County.

The crash was reported at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday on the 73 Freeway, near Jamboree Road in Newport Beach.

The vehicle landed on its roof in the southbound lanes of the freeway, where it became completely engulfed in flames.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was able to extricate themselves from the wreckage before first responders arrived. They were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
