Celebs, Golf Pros Take on Toshiba Classic Charity Challenge
Celebrity athletes including Matt Leinart and Garret Anderson join Champions Tour players to raise money for Hoag Hospital.
Pro golfers and celebrity athletes spent Tuesday morning participating in the Toshiba Classic's first annual Skills Challenge at the Newport Beach Country Club to generate money for Hoag Hospital.
Four athletes/celebrities and four Champions Tour players paired together in a targeted skills challenge to raise money for Hoag Hospital. The winning team, MLB outfielder Steve Finley, Toshiba Classic executive director Jeff Purser, KFMB sports reporter John Howard and Pro John Cook, received a $50,000 check which was donated in their names to Hoag Hospital’s Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center, the Toshiba Classic’s beneficiary for the third consecutive year.
Former Anaheim Angels outfielder Garret Anderson and Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt Leinart also participated in the charity event, along with Champions Tour players Fuzzy Zoeller, Esteban Toledo and Curtis Strange.

The 19th annual Toshiba Classic will be underway Monday through Sunday at the Newport Beach Country Club.
